About VetPricer
Until now, pet owners in the UK could not compare what vets charge. You found out at the desk. From December 2026 every practice has to publish the same 36 prices on its website. VetPricer reads them all, puts them side by side, and keeps the history so a rise cannot go unnoticed.
Who runs it
VetPricer is published by Search Ventures Ltd (company 10588553), a small independent publisher of UK open-data sites, and edited by Matthew Hodson in Lincoln, UK. It has no connection with any veterinary practice, group, insurer, the CMA or the RCVS. Nobody at a vet practice has any say in what appears here.
How it is paid for
Through advertising and, on the pages that discuss pet insurance or buying medicines online, links to providers that pay a commission if you take out a policy or make a purchase. Those links never affect which practices appear, the order they appear in, or the figures shown. No practice pays to be listed. Verifying a listing is free.
If you run a practice
If we have your prices wrong or out of date, or have not found your list, the quickest route is the "verify the listing" link on your practice page. A verified practice gets a mark on its page, its corrections dealt with first, and a same-day re-read when it tells us the list has changed. We do not take practices off the site. The rules make your prices public information, and owners come here to compare them.
If you are a journalist or a researcher
The press page has the monthly index as CSV, the figures on who has published by group and county, and a contact. How the prices are collected is written up in full.
